Revealed during the 10th anniversary celebration of Stellaris, the new tabletop game is planned for release in 2027.​

KANSAS CITY, MO, May 9, 2026 – Studio Far Horizons has announced Stellaris: Empires, an officially licensed strategic card game based on Stellaris, the sci-fi grand strategy video game from Paradox Interactive.
 

The announcement arrives as Stellaris celebrates its 10th anniversary, giving fans an early look at a new way to forge an empire beyond the screen. Stellaris: Empires is being published and developed by Studio Far Horizons under license from Paradox Interactive. 

“We’re excited to bring the Stellaris universe to the tabletop in a way that’s both authentic for longtime fans and accessible for new players, capturing the scale and storytelling that make the game so compelling,” said Jon Barry at Studio Far Horizons. Stellaris: Empires reimagines the game’s sweeping galactic ambition for the table through empire-building, diplomacy, exploration, and conflict.

 

The project is currently in development, with more details to come as Studio Far Horizons moves toward a planned 2027 release. Longtime Stellaris players will recognize the core experience: emergent storylines, one-of-a-kind empires with their own traits and tactics, and an ancient, vast galaxy teeming with wonder and life. For card game fans, Stellaris: Empires offers a new route into one of modern sci-fi gaming’s richest grand strategy sandboxes.
